Chain saw Wood carving

I had never see chain saw carving before and jumped at the opportunity to watch this wood artist in action. Mike carved two things for our group. He first started with a bear and the second was a pelican. Each item was started with a regular cedar log and then placed up on a block and he just stared cutting away. We were all in amazment as the log was transformed. Mike said that after the carvings are done they sit for a day before they are sanded of any rough edges and stained. Last is a clear coat so the carving may stay outdoors. Many people in our group bought carvings. I fell in love with a dolphin, but he was huge and I am at a point in my life where I no longer want things that cannot fit in an RV. Some of the carvings bought were bears, pelican, manatee and turtles. It is nice to watch someone who truely loves his craft.
